Welcome to My Life!

Life is a kaleidoscope of many beautiful and ugly adventures. Its an exciting road, whether or not the end of the road is where you want to end up. Its the picture you paint on the way that counts. Your kaleidoscope, a spinning collection of memories, experiences, and journeys, is never ending and always changing.

So far, my kaleidoscope is 21 years old, is about to graduate from Oral Roberts University in May, has traveled many places, and cannot wait to continue growing up into this mysterious thing called “being an adult.” I love the great outdoors and sparkly earrings, am way to competitive, and just colored my hair for the first time. I’m a Hoosier born-n-bred, will cheer for the Indianapolis Colts forever, and finished both a Tough Mudder and the Route 66 Half-Marathon this past year. I’m making some big decisions about the future and praying that in the end, regardless of where I end up, I will be exactly where God wants me. I love Jesus with my whole heart and no matter where I go or what I do in this life, I want to share this love with everyone I come in contact with.

As I try this whole blogging thing, I will be posting stuff I learn along the way and just in general, sharing my love and zeal for living a life that leaves a legacy.

Essentially, I like to live my life by Hebrews 12: 1-2, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Isn’t it wonderful to realize that there are countless angels and people of faith cheering for us? Instead of being in the world’s rat-race to find success, we are running a holy marathon and we cannot lose, not when Jesus has already won. We get to be a part of the greatest legacy ever known to man- the legacy of the unconditional love of God.

So as you get to know me, I hope your day gets a little brighter each time you read my small words. I hope you get excited about all the adventures you have yet to live through. I hope you are encouraged by the love that God has for you.

And I leave you with this thought- be excited about this new year! Carpe diem! Try something out of your comfort zone, make some new friends, and always be ready for adventure.

As Bilbo Baggins said, “It’s a dangerous business going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no telling where you might be swept off to.”

The road goes ever on and on…
